Part Time Musicians | Music Artists on Indie Accent

Part Time Musicians

c. - | ORIGIN: BANGKOK, THAILAND

Part Time Musicians is the 6-members and a young indie folk band. They are, for lack of an eminently more marketable descriptor, a group trafficking in harmonic pop singing from boys and girl. And the joy they derive in doing so is palpable. We feel it too. They are also self-described, not much of a rock band alike but what they want to do is, doing something to show their respect to the music they love and really into it since their childhood. Their eponymous debut tracks received much critical praise and reviewers often noted their use of refined lyrics and vocal harmonies. After their debut single “Vacation Time” hit number one at Fat Radio’s Top 40 chart (Thailand) in June 2013, the five faces Part Time Musicians have quickly released their second single called, “Would You Mind?” Featuring Chladni Chandi’s frontman Chawalit Saowapakpongchai, on violin along with Noparuj Satjawan, a talented sitar man. This track is an upbeat jaunty number, that has enough quirky-edges to avoid being too cutesy and represent the exciting-dark side from the instrument they did and added on as the part of this song at the same time. Their music idolized from artists they love such as Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Fleet Foxes, Mumford and Sons until some aside-inspirations of guitar riffs from Pink Floyd and Psychedelic music that we certainly hear in some phases. Also, Drawing influences from the traditions of folk music, individual pop, choral music along together with their English lyrics. Not too long after their successful of the second single, In October, the band found the last jigsaw who fulfill the team as the violinist for their latest single “The Haunted House”. The passionate and dreamy tune blended with indie-folk consisting the little gospelish vocals and mind-blowing guitar solos. The lyrics mostly surround with empty space to convey a feeling of hope and solitude. In a way through, It’s obviously that Part Time Musicians always relied on the timeless power of music. When they began to make music and perform it, critics noticed that they were insanely talented in the songwriting and harmony categories. It was pretty clear from the start that they were going to make it. And, They did. Recently, They just released “The Only One” for the festive Valentine’s. Overly cute from the voices and the melodies of violin will blow your mind and take you back to your grandparent’s era. This is another happily and cozily track after “The Haunted House” brought you to tears by sadness and painful lyrics. But now it’s over, until their next journey starts again.
