Curator Indie Accent Team Writer Caesar Fajriansah

We're approaching the end of month, so we've curated for you a playlist that best represent this month. The songs we picked in this playlist are songs that were there for us since the beginning of this month. Whether it's an old or new songs, they never left or skipped. They might be not our favourite, perhaps at one point they are, but when they're on, we tune into it till the countdown reaches 0:00 and we couldn't justify kicking them out of our daily routine.

Lunar Vacation - The Basement

Lunar Vacation is the latest act from the US to catch my ear. “The Basement” is single from their latest EP, “Artificial Flavors” which released back in 2018. They describe their sound as “dreamy pool rock”, and it’s reflected to this song. There's a feeling of nostalgia when listening to “The Basement

Lizzo - Juice

"Juice" is a song from American singer and rapper Lizzo that was released as the lead single from her third and debut major-label studio album, Cuz I Love You.

It's a bouncy, retro-inspired funk, rap song that contains Lizzo's outstanding vocal. The song received positive reviews from critics and i believe it's best song from Lizzo, period.

Folded Like Fabric - Hunting For Reason

Folded Like Fabric doesn't sound like the name of a music project does it? This UK based duo is offering a wonderful electronic soul track which creates a rich, vibrant ambience.

The duo released their EP "I Tried" back in 2015, and this song "Hunting For Reason" really caught my attention ever since.

Adoy - Wonder

This one K-Pop song you don’t wanna miss, ADOY is South-Korean group which released their debut EP back in 2017 and have been doing nothing but produce good music.

Their first EP “CATNIP” receiving critical acclaim for the well-polished and distinctive sound.

Dried Cassava - Blueberry Man

"Blueberry Man" is second single from Dried Cassava's third album which planned to be released this year. Dried Cassava showcases a new direction musially in "Berlayar", but they're back to their previous experimental rock in this one.

Baskoro's high-pitches voice shines brightly especially when combined perfectly with the band's outstanding instruments. The single itself still has the signature explosion lead guitar from "Mind Thieves" and there's no drastic departure from their old sound.

Heidi (The Girl With The Hair) - As Long As

After released her debut single "Soon Finland", Heidi or known as The Girl With The Hair, back with her second single titled "As Long As". This song was simply composed with perfectly sync vocal and minimalist instruments which could make this song a serious contender to overcome the achievement of her first single.

"As Long As" tells story about Heidi's journey in the music industry, as a musician and her life as a woman.

Niki - Lowkey

88rising‘s NIKI, dropped a new single called “lowkey” taken from her forthcoming EP, "wanna take this downtown?". In "lowkey", NIKI collaborated with producer Z3N and keeps the song simple with her delicate vocals around instrumentals that sounds innocence and comfortable.

Spissy - Radio

"Radio" is a synth driven song from Bloomington based duo, "Spissy".This song gives us a little bit of Indie Pop with bouncy, summery guitar riff and catchy synth that put your mind at ease.

Hindia - Secukupnya

After his successful debut single "Evaluasi", Baskara Putra with his moniker, "Hindia" is now back with another single titled 'Secukupnya' which will be inluded in his first album planned to be release this year.

The song reminds me of a joyous time in my life, and anytime you can form an emotional connection with music, you know you're on to a good thing

"Secukupnya" showcases some elements that are rather modern and mostly absent in his previous "Evaluasi" arrangement process. That is why 'Evaluasi' and 'Secukupnya' sound very different compared to each other, as they both want to speak different messages and were surrounded with different feelings.

Caste - Vacation

Jakarta based group, Caste, shared their debut single “Vacation”, a chilled out indie pop dreamscape of easy listening wonderment.

This track is utilizing simple lyrics and catchy songwriting, it is the ideal introduction to their sound.

Tuska - Suck on Your Mind

It's hard to listen to this song without thinking about Kevin Parker's vocals. Tuska, Brighton based duo, released they're S.E.P EP back in 2017, and this song is included in our "Best 0f 2017" playlist in case you haven't check that out.

Japanese Breakfast - Essentially

Japanese Breakfast has shared a new song called “Essentially” which recorded at W Sound Suite at W Bali.

In a press statement, Michelle Zauner explained how the track came together during a trip to Bali: "I was originally going to record a different song but decided to write something on the fly once I arrived in Bali. I like the challenge of writing and arranging quickly and intuitively sometimes, and I had just bought a native instruments machine and wanted to explore a lot of the sample libraries it came with and work on the synths that were at the studio."

Kevin Abstract - Peach

The man behind "boy band" rap crew, Kevin Abstract, released his own video for new track "Peach" which featured contributions from two other Brockhampton members, Bearface and Joba, both of them singing in falsetto.
