AUTOMATON
by JAMIROQUAI

"There's a Daft Punk-ish vibes all over this self-titled single"

PART OF AUTOMATON ALBUM
RELEASED ON 2017

I didn't even realize Jamiroquai was still a thing until couple days ago when they announced the release of their eighth album, Automaton. Founded in 1992 by front man Jay Kay, Jamiroquai is one of the “future funk” pioneers and have established himself as one of the most successful acts on the planet.
There's a Daft Punk-ish vibes all over this self-titled single, with electronic, soul, and funk elements, "Automaton" is everything you'd expect from a Jamiroquai jam. Jay Kay—who co-produced the LP with keyboardist Matt Johnson—said in a press release: "The inspiration for Automaton is in recognition of the rise of artificial intelligence and technology in our world today and how we as humans are beginning to forget the more pleasant, simple and eloquent things in life and in our environment including our relationship with one another as human beings."
