BIRCH TREE
by FOALS

"Filled with tapestry and synthetic funk guitar and impetuous vocals"

PART OF WHAT WENT DOWN
RELEASED ON 2015

Foals (@foals), in case you didn't know, is a math rock/alternative band based out of Oxford, and have released four albums to date. The song in the video "Birch Tree" taken from their latest album "What Went Down". After blown away by their three previous albums, they successfully fascinates me for the fourth time in this album. Although the music is often related to math rock or alternative, they always have one particular thing that we think is the major identity that makes them different from any other math rock band, intricate sound. This song is filled with tapestry and synthetic funk guitar sound and of course impetuous vocals from Yannis, though not as loud as in "What Went Down". At this point, it's safe to say they've mastered math rock and it feels wonderful to know the future of this genre is on the safe hands.
