DEPTHS (PT.1)
by YUMI ZOUMA

"Driven by instrumentation that is both minimalist and magnetic"

PART OF WILLOWBANK ALBUM
RELEASED ON 2018

New Zealand group, Yumi Zouma, attracted the attention of Australian musician Chet Faker, they had the opportunity to tour with him across North America and Australia, and then played massive audiences in support of Lorde.
But funny thing, between tours, they barely see each other, even during recording sessions. "Most of our early songs were made by sending audio files over Facebook Messenger or Dropbox, then editing each other's work while they were miles away, in a different country and time zone, sound asleep." according to one of the personnel, Charlie Ryder.
Anyway the song on the video is titled "Depth (Pt.1)", the track is driven by instrumentation that is both minimalist and magnetic at the same time, illuminated by vocalist Christie Simpson’s warm and always dynamic voice.
