HOT MESS

"A roaring and dynamic tune showcasing multi-instrumental prowess"

SINGLE
RELEASED ON 2021

Jakarta based rock group, MARTIALS/, caught my attention with “Hot Mess,” an intricate and layered song that displays adept song-writing and execution skills. It's raw, energetic, and I think it'll translate real nice in a live performance.

In this song, the group which consists of Enrico Octaviano and Rayhan Noor, combines math-rock riffs with alternative sensibility and infectious hook. A roaring and dynamic tune showcasing multi-instrumental prowess, wildly catchy songwriting, and a mastery of emotion-controlling tempo changes. The track goes through a number of metamorphosis, starting out as a noisy guitars before mutating into a alternative rock party that ends in a hailstorm of euphoric noise.

It's a very repeatable track and a no brainer to come back to pretty much whenever. Be sure to check out their older singles and hopefully more releases in near future.
