Dream Coterie, a city pop unit from Bandung, released their first two singles titled "Mokase" and "It's -27°" couple months ago. Paired with a backbone of peppy electronic beats and a bit of R&B, this song really just works and is definitely going on repeat.
I dig "It's -27°" so much, it has the feel of city pop, mixed with R & B. The composition focuses on a bass and keyboard focused sound, which provides a slightly R&B & soul. The beat shuffles and sways while maintaining a quintessential indie pop pace.
From the press release, 'It's -27°’ tells about the limitations in conveying feelings and how a person's feelings can’t be stated directly because of distance and time. The song also give the impression that everything does not need to be done excessively, a cold encounter becomes a comforting energy without having to speak.
