LEATHER JACKET
by HYUKOH

"Still has got some surf-rock and upbeat grooves on it"

PART OF 23 ALBUM
RELEASED ON 2017

Hyukoh is a breath of fresh air in a country where K-pop supergroups are dominating the market in South Korea. While K-pop stars were trained for years to build media friendly images and to cover their awful musicalities, Hyukoh, a four-piece of 24-year-old South Koreans, successfully comes as a surprise to the industry.
We already did a review for their biggest hit "Comes and Goes" last year, but now they are back with their debut album that was released last month, titled "23". This song called "Leather Jacket" still has got some surf-rock and upbeat grooves like in their previous album. Vocalist Oh Hyuk, whom the band is named after, writes about what he feels in an mix of Korean, English, and Chinese.
The record is a retrospective journey through youth, dealing with feelings of uncertainty, anxiety and sadness.
Recommended songs: Wanli, Tomboy, Tokyo Inn, Burning Youth
