"The track shouts midnight and the streets that are lit by city lights"

SINGLE
RELEASED ON 2023

Have you ever just sat quietly and let your mind wander, with no desire to control your thoughts in any particular direction? Or have you ever just zoned out completely, to the point where your mind is totally vacant? That is my first impression of VVYND’s (moniker of Kevin Wiyarnanda) latest single, “Orbit”, after Kevin sent the song to me days before its release date. This is the soundtrack to the experience, and it adds just the right amount of containment and comfort to make it feel okay.

It’s his first release in over six years and the follow up to 2016’s “Overload”. I like this song not only because of the enthralling R&B composition, but also for how unabashedly indulgent it is, it shapes and forms itself into the perfect fit of theme, character, and aesthetic (you should also definitely watch the music video).

The track shouts midnight, the streets that are lit by city lights pulsing to the rhythm, and all you wanna do is embrace the moment.
