PERMANENT FLING
by MILLEDENIALS

"Bridges the gap between emo and shoegaze in the grooviest way"

SINGLE
RELEASED ON 2021

I like the angsty, pop punk revival twist this Bali based group throws in. Third single by Milledenials, “Permanent Fling” emit a distinctly melancholy, ethereal feeling which we could also found in their past releases. It also bridges the gap between the worlds of emo and shoegaze in the grooviest way.

The major theme in "Permanent Fling" is introspecting at failed expectations. This totally relatable theme is amplified through this song’s lyrics and a sound that’s nostalgic of early 2000’s emo bands. Lyrically it represents all the hopeless romantic out there who often find themselves desperately fall in love yet out of favor.

The coming-of-age lyrics meshed with melodic guitar riffs subtly gives the song an angsty vibe. The group is banging away on the drums, fiercely strumming guitar and confidently commanding the hauntingly vocals. It's a very repeatable track and a no brainer to come back to pretty much whenever. Be sure to check out their older singles and hopefully more releases in near future. -CF
