RETURN TO SENDER
by AVHATH

"It's all very cathartic and very effective"

SINGLE
RELEASED ON 2023

Clocking in at almost ten minutes, Avhath latest single, “Return to Sender”, is their longest track to date. There is something eerie yet incredibly captivating about the song, it is an experimental track with twist and turn which creates an evocative, bleak soundscape that will keep you guessing at every turn.

Co-produced by Remedy Waloni of The Trees & The Wild, the track plays and fiddles around with its identity, adding new sounds and compositions the longer you listen, and every new addition is a surprise and absolute joy. The well-structured nature of this track allows this ‘ominous’ moods to work in harmony adding another dimension to the track the more you dig in.

The song isn't at high stakes all the time, there are some breaks here and there, from softer moments to actual silences. At 7:48, it slowly starts ripping itself apart, destroying its audio-scape, pushing itself beyond the realities of its own existence. All the built-up joys, pains and frustrations are then released in an outro as ‘calming’ as the track was chaotic. It's all very cathartic and very effective.
