SHEEP
by GONJASUFI

"there is a touch of Indian music that he samples directly"

PART OF A SUFI AND A KILLER ALBUM
RELEASED ON 2010

I found that this song is too unique that I need to share it with you guys. This song is called, "Sheep" from San Diego based yoga instructor Sumach Ecks, which also have a career in music as a rapper, producer, and DJ. He is now focusing on his solo endeavors under the moniker of “Gonjasufi.” This song came from his debut album, “A Sufi and a Killer” which was released in 2010. The whole album consists of 20 tracks song with the genre of psychedelic rock, experimental, and alternative along with the influence of 60s music. In this song itself, there is a touch of Indian music that he samples directly from an Indian based singer Asha Bhosle and Suresh Wadkar from a song titled “Yeh Hawa Yeh Fiza.” For me personally, his voice characters and strange lyrics surprisingly match the sample, which makes this song very special and different in a good way.
