Brisbane indie-pop artist Hatchie has returned with her first song in two years, “This Enchanted”, and this is also the first song for her new label, Secretly Canadian.

“It’s one of the more lighthearted, lyrically vague songs of my new recordings about falling in love; it’s not a perfect relationship, but you’re enthralled by one another and it’s an easy love.” said the Australian musician. The track was created during lockdown in 2020, with the goal being to make “something dancey but shoegaze”.

It's a slow-burning track that captures a lot of the DNA found in her first album. The instrumentation has a slight indie pop, and lot of shoegaze feel to it, but the softness of the vocals turns it into a dancey number that defies pinning down. It’s really quite lovely.
