IN A SONG
by BLACK KIDS

"Their sound seamlessly marries an ‘80s vibe with synth-pop"

PART OF ROOKIE ALBUM
RELEASED ON 2017

Black Kids finally return after almost 10 years, on September they self-released a new album called Rookie. It’s their first full-length since their notorious 2008's debut album Partie Tramatic and 10 years since their first EP, Wizard of Ahhhs, which named best new music by Pitchfork.
It was released about a month ago, so we've been sitting on it for some time now. This beat-driven song "In A Song" features recognizable vocals from Reggie Youngblood (if you're listened to them 10 years ago of course), catchy drum fills, and infectious synths. Their sound seamlessly marries an ‘80s vibe with synth-pop just like songs in their debut album. The track starts with a funky, warm throwback vibe – like something straight out of 80s. Florida-based group became an internet success story, played in Coachella, and signed with Columbia Records a few months after forming, thanks to the single "I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You.” Let's hope this self-released records can bring back the old times glory.
