The production on this latest album of Jakarta based group, Dried Cassava, as a whole is very cohesive, and the instrumentation for “Phases” is surely a standout. It's got groove, it's got grip, it's got fresh ideas.

Their development and matureness on music are very visible in this album, it showcases their signature alternative-rock which a bit more polished than their past releases. “Phases” is a euphoric and calm dance-y track that you will be listening to over and over because it's a goodie.

The coming-of-age lyrics such as “It’s ok to be not ok”, meshed with edgy guitar riffs subtly gives the song a calming vibe. Vocals that perfectly fit into the modern-day rock sound make the track relevant and exciting. The “guitar solo” part is the absolute highlight of the track and I could listen to it over and over again, just to hear that section. It doesn't hurt that the rest of the song is also great, and I hope you enjoy it too.
